New Website Created

I just finished coding and uploading my new website.

http://www.francis-w.com

Here's some data about it for you all:

Code Version: 4.0.2
Site Development Name: SAI
Time Taken: 27.6 hours
Tools Used: Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Notepad++, Firefox.
Site Languages: JavaScript, HTML, and CSS

Space ad Infinitum is a site created from scratch by Francis Windram. It is based on CSS-styled HTML and JavaScript, specifically the jQuery library. The site is designed to be lightweight, to work without advanced technologies, and to provide a solid, well structured portfolio, particularly on larger screens. SAI required only a small amount of graphics, so the server load has been kept to a minimum. The most noticeable piece of graphics created for SAI was the new logo, which can be re-coloured and resized without looking out of place as either a watermark or a stand-alone logo. Plans for the future include a jQuery powered fade/slide page change effect, centralised template management, and more.

Unfortunately I'm gonna need to find some new music for it as the current music is not royalty-free

Film: Second To All

Just to let you all know, I'm currently working on a film known to me as Second To All as part of my graphic design as-level.

This has been fun, but tough to make, but I've enjoyed every second so far. I've been using Premiere Pro and Photoshop along with Audacity and my compact camera.

I wish I could include the soundtrack I currently have with it when I eventually upload it, but I can't
Oh well, it would be the middle section of Clubbed To Death by Rob Dougan.

More updates shall follow as & when

First Impressions

Now, a few days ago I received an invite to Join a site called Artician. In general I tend to ignore invites such as this, but instead I decided to follow the link

As soon as I arrived, I thought

This looks very professional!
The front page was sleek and well thought out, whilst providing full functionality to users.

The first button I clicked was "Sign Up". Ten minutes later I had an activated account and a whole range of options in front of me. As a test I decided to take a look at the submit function, and then I find out...I can import from my deviantart portfolio! This really notched up my opinion of the site from "Nice Looking" to "Nice Looking & Very Well Thought Out". Then I saw the customization options for my portfolio, and the professional design used in creating it. My opinion of this site increased to "Nice Looking & Very Well Thought Out + Professional Display Qualities". For me that puts it above deviantart and many other sites in its small community and excellent website design.

First impressions of our community is a more mature and professional group with a great staff team who are easy to identify with. Can't wait to see how we develop here.
